Rivers Angels Lift FA Cup With Falcons Players

RIVERS ANGELSIt is no longer news that Rivers women side, Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt have lifted the 2014 Women Federations’ Cup for the fifth time.

Rivers Angels managed by Coach Edwin Okon, Coach of Falcons was lucky to have chunk of the Falcons players combined with experience to have easy ride on Sunshine Queens of Akure 2-0 last Sunday at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos to claim the Nigerian females Federation Cup.

Hard fighting Sunshine Queens resisted the fighting Super power of the experienced lager chunk of falcons players to bow to the Port Harcourt side at the second half.

Ageless midfielder, Stella Mbachu and all time goal scorer, Asisat Oshoala were on duty for Rivers Angel to gave victory to Port Harcourt female side.

It takes experience and good tactician to guide the Port Harcourt female side to victory.

Edwin Okon is the technical adviser of the Nigeria national female side and was able to combine his experience and the chunk of experienced falcons players to run down the sunshine queens to lift the FA cup.

The goals were not forthcoming from the 1st half till the massive experience of Edwin Okon and the large chunk of falcons players went to work to crumble the hard fighting sunshine Queens. Sunshine Queens had to substitute their first choice keeper, Elizabeth Johnson in a bid to resisting the high fly Rivers Angels on the night.

Finally, the experience of Edwin Okon and the duo of Stella Mbachu, Asisat Oshoala in the 2nd half brought down highly stubborn sunshine Queens. Sunshine Queens were on their own played a game commendable as they gave a stiff opposition to the Victorious Rivers Angels. It was a good encounter worth of commendation for a finals in the 2014 Women FA Cup. Hardwork, discipline and experience prevailed for Rivers Angels to claim the FA cup for the fifth record time.

According to captain for the side, Evelyn Nwabuoku, Rivers Angels are not tired to lift the FA cup for the sixth time. ###
